◎简　　介
　　美国运送的英国航天飞机Moonraker在途中被人劫持，找不到一丝太空船的残骸，运送航天飞机的波音747也化为灰烬。这立刻引起两国政府的警觉，英方怀疑有不法组织劫持了太空船探月者号，远在南非的邦德被召回调查此事，不料在飞机上遭到袭击，被钢牙推出舱外，所幸邦德在空中偷走了飞行员的降落伞，平安着地后，他立即赶往伦敦的军情六处总部了解劫机情况，M、Q和邦德都认为应该从制造Moonraker航天飞机的德拉克斯公司开始着手调查。
　　德拉克斯公司老板雨果·德拉克斯对邦德非常冷谈。邦德后来邂逅了女宇航员古德海德，并进入离心机舱室体验超重感受，德拉克斯的手下控制了离心机，希望置邦德于死地，却不料邦德在双倍重力极限中幸存了下来。邦德用男色俘虏了德拉克斯私人飞行员科琳·杜弗尔的心，在她的帮助下，邦德潜入德拉克斯的书房，发现了一只玻璃瓶的图纸，这是部分关于太空船的资料。翌日一早，科琳·杜弗尔便被德拉克斯谋害。
